TRAIN have been amazing with my son. I feel I can trust them. They do trips and cooking with them. My son loves TRAIN, he goes twice a week and really looks forward to it.
We’re glad you’re here.
Your child might have told you about TRAIN, or maybe you heard about us through their school or other parents – but however you ended up on our website, you’re in the right place. This page should give you a good idea of who we are, how your young person can get involved, and how to give consent for them to join our activities.
If you still have questions after reading the information below, please feel free to call us on 07458306358. We’re always happy to chat.
All of our activities are free. We don’t charge because we don’t want to prevent any young person from benefitting. Instead, we rely on voluntary donations to sustain our work. Please consider making a donation, if you can.
Stay Up To Date
WhatsApp is the best way to find out what’s on this week. Parents and young people are welcome to join.

Your number will not be visible to others and only youth workers can post.

TRAIN is a youth work charity supporting young people aged 10-18 in Didcot, Wallingford and the surrounding areas.
We offer young people somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to trust. That means safe, informal spaces where they can drop in on their own terms. It means meaningful, engaging activities that help them explore who they are and what they’re interested in. And it means trusted relationships with qualified youth workers (safe adults who are not in traditional positions of authority).
One of the first things young people normally come along to is our youth club. We run youth clubs in Didcot and Wallingford every week, with different sessions for different ages. You can find the right session for your young person on our what’s on pages for Didcot and Wallingford.
Our youth clubs are open-access spaces and all young people are welcome to attend. We have lots for them to do (a PlayStation 5, air hockey, table football…), we provide snacks, and the sessions are a great opportunity to socialise with other young people in a safe, welcoming space. Our youth workers are on hand throughout the sessions too.
If your young person is experiencing social isolation, we can’t promise our youth club will fix that. But we can say that it’s a place they will always be welcome, and that, over time, some young people find it becomes a really important part of their support system.

Before your child/teenager comes to one of our youth clubs for the first time, we need you to sign a consent form to tell us a bit about them, and to give your consent to them participating.
Your young person may have interacted with us when we’ve been out and about in town, heard about our weekly football sessions, or be interested in getting involved in one of our leadership projects or going on a trip in the school holidays.

TRAIN’s work is run by qualified youth workers, and we have a clear safeguarding policy in place. Our staff and volunteers know to immediately report any safeguarding concerns to our designated safeguarding lead, who will then thoroughly follow up on them.
■ TRAIN believes that a young person should never experience harm or abuse of any kind
■ We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all young people and to keep them safe
■ We are committed to operating in a way that protects young people and will not tolerate abuse and exploitation by staff, contractors, volunteers, or anybody working for TRAIN
