What’s On – Wallingford

Wallingford’s not always the most exciting place. We get it. There’s not much going on after school or at the weekend – and that’s why we’re here. We run youth clubs and holiday trips, and create opportunities for you to learn new skills and do new things. All of our sessions are free to attend.

Say NO to boredom, and hi to TRAIN...

Trips & Holiday Activities

When:  Advertised ahead of school holidays

Combat boredom and do something different by joining us on a trip or school holiday activity. We’ll advertise these in the lead-up to school holidays. Previous trips have included climbing the O2 Arena in London, ice skating in Oxford, Fright Night at Thorpe Park, visiting Queer Britain for LGBTQ+ History Month, and residentials in France.

Detached Youth Work

We come to you (sometimes with snacks). Our detached youth workers and volunteers will say hi if we see you out and about in Didcot during one of our detached sessions. If you want to chat, we’re here for it. We have no agenda, we’re just around to get to know you and let you know where we are if you ever need us.

Mentoring

1-2-1 and group support for young people who’ve been finding  school, friendships and daily life a bit difficult. TRAIN’s group and 1-2-1 mentoring programmes equip young people with life skills and tools to use in school and in relationships. The mentoring is completely voluntary, with young people choosing to participate and playing an active role.

I’m grateful for the help, it’s helped me get through school when I’m anxious.
