You can help us.
You can champion and support young people in Didcot and Wallingford so that they grow in confidence and self worth.
You can show that you believe in them, so that they can start believing in themselves.
You can help them choose their own futures – futures where they are contributing to their communities, rather than disengaging or getting into trouble..

Lucas’ behaviour was at crisis point. He was visibly frustrated at school, and his teachers were worried about the harm he might do to himself or other students. Exclusion was on the cards.
His school asked us to help. Lucas already knew TRAIN through our youth clubs, so he decided to give our mentoring a go. He trusted his mentor, our youth worker Georgie, enough to tell her the challenges he was facing at home, and together they worked out what was triggering his frustration and how he could act earlier to stop it getting out of hand.
Change takes time, but having someone to talk to, someone to trust, and someone who was there to champion him, has given Lucas the confidence and tools to make change happen. Now, he’s re-engaged with school, and through TRAIN he’s also volunteered in the community, learned new skills, and achieved an ILM Level 2 Young Leaders award.
Lucas is proud of where he is today and has dreams for his future. “I’m doing well at school now and I want to do an engineering apprenticeship” he says.
Your gift can make all the difference for a young person like Lucas – giving them someone to champion them when they need it most. Giving them someone to trust, when they’re not sure where to turn.
Could you give that support to a young person today?
